Hello friends —
In January, the world got a little less cool when we lost Jim. While his earthly vessel is gone, left behind is a colorful tapestry of people who are different for having shared time and space with him.
The Reeves family and I deeply appreciate your kind words and support. Jim would have been humbled to know the outpouring of respect and love for him in recent weeks. He’d be uncomfortable with any fuss made over him, regardless how deserved it was. Even so, he’s earned it all and we can’t wait to pay him tribute in a thoughtful and memorable way.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, May 4th. We’re looking forward to a day of remembrance surrounded by those who loved him and filled with laughter. You’re welcome to attend one or both events.
We’re planning a unique and informal gathering with some personal touches we think Jim would appreciate. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-3p at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington.
Immediately following, we invite everyone to join us at the Rotary Shelter in Washington Park (900 Lincoln St) directly across from the Veterans Memorial. We’ll begin around 3:30p with a few words from family and then open the floor to anyone who wishes to share a memory, story, or prayer.
Thank you again for your support – it means a great deal. I’m very much looking forward to this milestone as we walk my dad home.

Sounds of laughter, shades of life
Are ringing through my opened ears
Inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love
Which shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe
